EASA STC for Britten Norman BN-2-() Series with the 4-blade MT-Propellers MTV-14

Atting, November 2017

MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH has received the  EASA STC 10063741 for the 4-blade natural composite propellers MTV-14-B-C-F/CF190-17 on the Britten Norman Models BN2, BN2A, BN2A-2, BN2A-6,-8, -9,-20, -21, -26, -27, BN2B-20, BN2B-21, BN2B-26, BN2B-27 powered by the engines Lycoming ( )-540-series.

MT-Propeller President Gerd Muehlbauer says, that the installation features the following advantages:

  • – General slightly enhanced performance
  • – Approx. 44 lbs less weight than the original 3-blade propellers
  • – Approx. same weight compared to theoriginal 2-blade propellers
  • – No life limited parts
  • – Reduced inside and outside noise for more flying comfort
  • – Reduced vibration for less fatigue.
  • – Cowling modification can be done according to MT work instruction.

The MT-Propeller natural composite blades have no life limitation and are repairable in case of an FOD.

They also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation and have bonded on stainless steel leading edges for best erosion protection of the blades.

MT-Propeller is the world leading natural composite propeller manufacturer with 30 certified propeller models from 2-blade to 7-blade hydraulically controlled variable pitch propeller, for engines producing up to 5000hp, and 2-blade to 4-blade electrically controlled variable pitch propeller, for engines producing up to 350hp as well as two blade fixed pitch propellers.

The high performance, light weight and durable MT-Propellers can be used on aircraft with piston engines and propeller turbines, as well as on airships, wind tunnels or hovercraft. MT-Propellers can be developed for nearly every aircraft type from motor gliders to regional airliners.
