EASA STC for M7 Aerospace SA226 series with the 5-blade MT-Propeller MTV-27
July 2017
MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH has received the the EASA STC 10062183 for the Quiet Fan Jet composite propeller MTV-27-1-E-C-F-R(G)/CFR235-55a on the M7 Aerospace SA226-T, SA226-AT, SA-226-TC with the engines TPE331-3U-( ), TPE331-3UW-( )

or TPE331-10UA-( ) or any TPE331-( ) installed per approved STCS which do not exceed 840 SHP and 2000 rpm.

MT-Propeller President Gerd Muehlbauer says, that the installation feature the following advantages:

– No engine modifications (no cam or beta tube change)
– Ground roll distance reduced by approx. 30 m (98 ft)
– Two engine and single engine climb performance slightlyimproved by up to 100 ft/min
– Cruise performance slightly improved by up to 4 kts
– Same weight of MT 5-blade natural composite propeller compared to original 3-blade metal propeller
– Cabin noise is reduced by 3 to 5 dB(A) depending on location
– Cooler ITTS during engine start up due to a shorter starting time of 1/3
Due to the smaller diameter the MT-Propeller for the SA226 series has more ground clearance for less blade tip erosion.

The MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction. They have no life limitation, and are repairable in case of an FOD.

They also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation and have bonded on nickel alloy leading edges for superior erosion protection of the blades.
